Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 1, 2026

Blackacre LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates Brooklyn Baron News at brooklyn-baron-news.vercel.app and related newsletters and services (the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.

By using the Services you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly.

  • Newsletter signup — your email address and, where the form requests it, your name.
  • Contact and correspondence — your name, email address, and the contents of any message you send us, including by email.
  • Correction, takedown and rights requests — the information you provide so we can locate the material and respond.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Services, we and our providers may collect:

  • IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type and version, operating system, device type, and language settings;
  • pages viewed, links clicked, referring and exit pages, and dates and times of access;
  • diagnostic and error data used to detect and fix faults; and
  • identifiers stored in cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).

Information from third parties. We may receive information from analytics, security, email delivery, and advertising providers, and from platforms you use to reach us.

We do not knowingly collect payment card details, government identifiers, precise geolocation, or biometric data through the Services.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • send you newsletters and other communications you requested, and manage your subscription preferences;
  • respond to your inquiries, correction requests and other correspondence;
  • operate, maintain, secure and improve the Services, including measuring which content is read and how the site performs;
  • detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, spam and security incidents, including through reCAPTCHA;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use; and
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not use your personal information to train generative artificial intelligence models.

3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (newsletters, non-essential cookies), which you may withdraw at any time; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, measuring and improving the Services and in communicating with people who contact us; and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Services, and — subject to your choices — cookies for analytics and, where deployed, advertising measurement. You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie controls presented on the Services, and through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Services function.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by applicable law. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals, we do not currently respond to them.

5. Advertising and Analytics

The Services use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used. Google may set cookies and process data as described at policies.google.com. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.

The Services display advertising, which may include attorney advertising. Advertising and measurement partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure delivery and performance and, depending on configuration, to serve interest-based advertising.

> Publisher note — verify before publishing. If any tag on the Services transmits identifiers to an advertising platform for that platform's own advertising purposes, that transfer may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA and comparable state laws even if no money changes hands, and it triggers a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link obligation. Section 8 must be reconciled with the live tag configuration.

We use reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from automated abuse. Its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and it collects device and behavioral data for that purpose.

6. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as follows:

  • Service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including our email delivery provider (SendGrid), hosting and content delivery providers (Vercel, Cloudflare), error monitoring (Sentry), and analytics and anti-abuse providers (Google).
  • Affiliates — other publications and entities under common ownership with us, for the purposes described in this Policy.
  • Legal and safety — when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or is necessary to enforce our Terms, protect the rights, property or safety of the Company, our users or the public, or investigate suspected fraud or abuse.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be among the assets transferred.

We do not otherwise disclose your email address or the contents of your correspondence to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Retention

We retain newsletter subscription data until you unsubscribe and for a reasonable period afterwards to honor your opt-out and evidence consent. Correspondence is retained as long as needed to address the matter and for our record-keeping and legal purposes. Server logs and analytics data are retained for limited periods consistent with their purpose. We delete or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed, subject to legal holds.

8. Your Privacy Rights

United States — All States

You may unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link in that email, or by contacting us. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and we will honor such requests as required by applicable law.

California (CCPA/CPRA and “Shine the Light”)

California residents have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties to which it is disclosed; to request deletion; to request correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising; to limit the use of sensitive personal information; and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.

We do not sell personal information for money. See the publisher note in Section 5 — whether any advertising or analytics tag constitutes “sharing” under the CPRA must be confirmed against the live configuration, and if it does, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link must be provided here and in the site footer.

California's “Shine the Light” law permits residents to request information about disclosures to third parties for those parties' direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

Other U.S. States

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and others as those laws take effect — have rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. Where an appeal process is required, you may appeal a denied request by replying to our response.

EEA and UK

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. We do not currently offer a data-transfer mechanism for routine transfers out of the EEA/UK; the Services are directed to users in the United States, and information you provide will be processed in the United States.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Email legal@newstrix.app with your request and the site it concerns. We will verify your request using the information we hold — typically the email address you provided — and respond within the period required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

9. Security

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for users 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact legal@newstrix.app and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Sites

The Services link to third-party websites and display third-party advertising. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be indicated by that date and, where required by law, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
